Housing
Housing supply and demand activity from 2000-
2005 was very strong, making this sector one
of the state's most profitable industries. Eighty
percent of middle-income housing purchase
was financed with bank credits, the balance
with individual resources.
The rental market is diminishing as a result of
the availability of mortgage financing, which
today offer very competitive interest rates,
around 13% fixed and long-term
Cancun market prices are lower than other
places in Mexico (Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco,
los Cabos). Because Cancun is the favorite
destination of the American market, increased
appreciation over other markets is predicted.
The residential tourism market is the country's
real estate niche with greatest growth
potential along with general housing. It
provides the best yields for investors.
